Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

John's Place has an excellent weekend brunch, and locals love eating outside on the sidewalk cafe in the summer. Also on Roscoe Street, Volo Restaurant Wine Bar has some of the best patio and outdoor seating, plus an extensive wine list. Lush Food & Drink is a French-influenced bistro with an emporium of wine and drinks. There are many international eateries to sample in this area, and the Turquoise Cafe & Restaurant, with prime Turkish food and sidewalk seating, is another local favorite.

For high-quality casual clothes to fill your wardrobe, head to The Denim Lounge and peruse the racks of comfortable jeans, cozy jackets, trendy tops, and fashionable accessories. RoscoeBooks, an independently owned bookshop, is a go-to spot to find noteworthy novels, unique books, and gifts for your loved ones. They also host various book clubs, perfect for those page-turners. To complete your retail therapy mission, head to the Cinnamon Boutique to find another clothing spot with upscale designer items and accessories.

Things to Do

Retro on Roscoe Fest in August is when artists, vendors, and merchants gather in front of three stages to listen to music and shop. This part of the city also hosts a Halloween Block Party, and everyone dresses up in costumes. The Roscoe Village Winterfest is held at the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce and is open to everyone. The Burger Fest Roscoe Village is a fun-filled challenge for people to taste as many burgers from local businesses as possible, then vote for the best one.

Roscoe residents enjoy bowling, batting cages, and shopping on Roscoe Street. Roscoe and North Center are not far from the Kennedy Expressway, and travel on the L is always an option.
